The Wilson 811201 is a direct connect dual band amplifier. Direct connect amplifiers can only be used for one phone and require a cable to connect directly to your wireless phone or data card.

The advantage of a direct connect amplifier over a wireless is that it has a stronger gain than a wireless amplifier. Unlike wireless models, with the direct connect there is no signal lost while transmitting to the phone. It is also less expensive than the regular wireless amplifier.

There is another Direct connect amplifier, the 812201 but I recommend purchasing the 811201 over the 812201, since the 811201 is compatible for ALL dual band carriers.
