The Wilson 812201 is a direct connect dual band GSM amplifier. It can be used for carriers using GSM technology such as At&t and T-Mobile etc. The 811201 is compatible for ALL dual band carriers, but this 812201 is more limited.
 
Note: Direct connect amplifiers can only be used for one phone and requires pluging a cord into the cell phone. We have over 100 different antenna adapters in stock to fit various phones and wireless cards.

The advantage of a direct connect amplifier over a wireless amplifier is that it has a stronger gain than a wireless amplifier, since often signal is degraded as it is transmitted wirelessly to a phone. It is also less expensive than the regular wireless amplifier.

PREAMPLIFICATION: This amplifier is recommended by Wilson electronics for pre-amplification and can assist in situations where there is a very long cable run for a building installation. For example, if you are running cable 200 ft you might lose 14 db of signal from the cable run, but you would be able to use a pre-amplifier to make up for that lost signal.
