The Wilson
301114 is a glass mount antenna. It can be used only for direct connect amplifiers,
for example, the 811201 and the 811101.
The advantage
of the glass mount antenna over the other antennas is the neater look. No need
to drill holes as for the NMO antennas and no need to have wires coming through
an open window as for the magnet mount antennas.
The
disadvantage is that you will lose about .2 of gain since it has to go through
glass. Another disadvantage is that the tape may eventually loosen do to the
heat outside the truck.
There is
another glass mount antenna, the 301102. It works the same as the 301114. The difference
between them is the height and the amount of gain. The 301114 has a height of
5.375 inches giving it a sleeker look, but only has a gain of 1.4 dB. The 301102
has a height of 15 inches but has a greater gain, a gain of 3.5 dB.
